Leicester is DJ SS's city. He co-founded Formation Records, a key hardcore and jungle label, and in 1991 co-ran one of the first big indoor raves, at Donington Park, which drew 6,000 people. Formation Jungle Slammer still runs at 2Funky on Park Street.

Doppler Studio is home to Jungle 4Eva, and the 440 venue, which opened in 2025, hosts nights from Invicta Audio and Contrary Motion.
