Going to your first drum & bass night? Here’s what’s worth knowing before you book.
Buy from the official seller
Every event on DNB Events links to the seller the promoter uses, such as Skiddle, Fixr, DICE or Resident Advisor. Avoid buying screenshots or transfers from strangers on social media; most sellers have their own resale or transfer system.
Check the times
Club nights usually open at 10pm or 11pm and run until 3am to 6am. All-dayers and day parties, like WAH or Drum & Bass Classics, usually start between midday and 4pm, which can be easier for getting home.
Check the age limit
Most club nights are 18+ and ask for photo ID. Some promoters run 16+ events, usually earlier in the evening: on our listings right now, for example Oxford 16+ Halloween Rave, Brighton 16+ Halloween Rave, MANIA U18 x DUB LAB: BOURNEMOUTH + MACKY GEE, SuperMotive Bristol 16+ Halloween Rave.
Free tickets go fast
Free nights are usually first come, first served, and some only stay free until a set number of people are in. Bass Face nights, for example, are free for the first 150 people and paid after that.
Plan getting home
In London the Night Tube runs on Friday and Saturday nights on the Central, Jubilee, Northern, Piccadilly and Victoria lines. Elsewhere, check the last train or bus before you go and save a licensed taxi number.
Look after yourself and your mates
Drink water, take breaks from the speakers and use earplugs: long nights next to a big sound system can damage your hearing. Stick with your group, agree a meeting point, and talk to venue staff or welfare teams if anyone feels unwell.
